Full Description
AMT (Air Motion Transformer)
Originally crafted for the Wharfedale Elysian speakers, Wharfedale EVO4 series speakers utilise the same Air Motion Transformer (AMT) high-frequency unit, the complete evolution of the standard dome tweeter. Rows of strategically placed magnets drive a large, lightweight, pleated diaphragm that contract and expand, squeezing air into desired waveforms. The result? Wide bandwidth with minimal distortion that features precise detailing and dispersion that engulfs your room in sound crafted by over 75 years’ experience.
SLPP Bass Reflex System
A vented slot at the base of the speaker unit handles the low-end dispersion. Profiled to equalise the high internal pressure to low external pressure for low distortion and deep articulate bass. This also means you can afford to be more liberal with speaker positioning as the air is dispersed uniformly into the room.
Accuracy
A woven Kevlar cone fitted with a low-loss rubber surround offers a wide bandwidth that produces powerful bass and a natural soundstage. Kevlar boasts strong yet lightweight characteristics making it ideal for speaker construction removing any unwanted colouration of audio and ensuring long-lasting sonic brilliance for your setup.
Mid-range driver
Matching a powerhouse of a unit like the AMT treble unit is the fast and responsive midrange driver. It offers up a wide bandwidth of 800Hz to 5kHz and thanks to its high-flux magnet, rapid response ensures it can keep up with the dynamics of the most demanding music. The combination between the bass cone and the AMT ensures unmatched natural detailing that brings the best out of every track.
