Full Description
REL’s T/X Range
The T7X, part of REL Acoustics’ T/X subwoofer series, is the middle model. It sits between the T5X and T9X in terms of power and performance and is ideal for intermediates with a slightly higher budget. Being a step up from the T5X, the T7X is a little larger and more powerful; coming in at 356 x 320 x 363 mm with two drivers and 200-Watt power output it is well suited to standard and medium sized rooms.
Looks Matter
Alongside functionality and great sonic performance, REL also prides itself on creating visually stunning subwoofers. For the engineers at REL, design and performance go hand in hand; with the T7X, they masterfully achieve powerful sound without an overly bulky appearance. Rounded corners help create the illusion of a more compact form; each face flows into the next and reduces the harshness of the cuboid boxy form. Ultimately, the uniformity of the gloss black and silver hardware throughout looks contemporary and luxurious.
Forward- and Floor-Firing
The T7X features two drivers. The first of these is an 8-inch forward-firing active driver, projecting its sound outward for dispersion throughout your room. The other is a 10-inch floor-firing passive driver helping to pick up extra throw and accelerate sound through your room. These drivers combine to deliver both clarity and speed in their sound output. While being more reactive and transparent than previous models, the T7X simultaneously boasts greater volume and power thanks to the stiffer critical suspension.
Lustrous Lacquer
The T7X, like the rest of the T/X range, is available in two gleaming finishes. Both the black and white exteriors have received five coats of shiny lacquer, each hand polished to perfection. Rounded corners and the REL logo detailed upon each of the subwoofer’s four feet make the models of REL’s T/X series the height of subwoofer sophistication.
Reliably Amplify
The T7X features a Class A/B amplifier, something which REL have maintained throughout their T series subwoofers since 2006. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, right? Such recognition of what works well contributes to REL’s reliability in the realm of subwoofers. Given that the subwoofer is the brand’s only product category, they are trusted by many to achieve superior bass.
Wireless Without Compression
While wired connections are still the optimal way to enjoy a subwoofer, the T7X can be used in conjunction with REL’s Arrow System for wireless connectivity without the usual compression of sound quality. By adding the Arrow System (optional and sold separately), you’ll benefit from the convenience of being wireless and can reposition your subwoofer wherever it suits you.
