The T5X is the smallest of REL’s T/X subwoofer series, coming in at 300 x 307 x 313 mm. Despite its small and compact cuboid form, this entry-level T/X subwoofer is packed with a high-current 125-Watt amplifier, big power, big transistors and plenty of protective measures for electrical assurance. Every aspect of the T5X has been upgraded to outperform the previous T/i subwoofer series, but as always, is entirely reliable, further cementing REL Acoustics as one of the subwoofer specialists.

Looks Matter

Alongside functionality and great sonic performance, REL also prides itself on creating visually stunning subwoofers. For the engineers at REL, design and performance go hand in hand; with the T5X, they have masterfully achieved powerful sound without bulky, space-consuming form. REL has cleverly re-designed the T5X so that the extra power is neatly disguised within an unobtrusive cabinet, making this powerful subwoofer small and unassuming at first glance. But don’t be fooled, this subwoofer packs a punch!

Floor-firing Finesse

The 8-inch bass driver of the T5X subwoofer is down-firing / floor-firing, meaning the driver is positioned at the base of the speaker. Consequently, sound bounces off the ground and picks up an extra 20 (approximately) output power before reaching your ears. Down-firing drivers are also great for giving sound waves acceleration through your room; helping them to saturate your surroundings evenly.

Lustrous Lacquer

The T5X is available in two extremely glossy finishes. Both the black and white exteriors have received five coats of shiny lacquer, each hand polished to perfection. With rounded corners and the REL logo detailed upon each of the subwoofers four feet, the T5X exudes sophistication and elegance.

Dare to Go Deep

The T5X features the same 8-inch bass engine as its slightly larger sibling; the T7X. This cone, composed of aluminium and light paper, is extremely detailed allowing you to experience clarity even in the deepest sounds. Furthermore, with an increased throw and greatly improved internal suspension, the T5X can play such clarity and detail at louder volumes.

Wireless Without Compression

While wired connections are still the optimal way to enjoy a subwoofer, the T5X can be used in conjunction with REL’s Arrow System for wireless connectivity without the usual compression of sound quality. By adding the Arrow System (optional and sold separately), you’ll benefit from the convenience of being wireless and can reposition your subwoofer wherever it suits you.
