Full Description
C3 Continuous Curved Cone
The Q Acoustics Q 5090 features Continuous Curved Cone (C3) technology that delivers accurate sound reproduction. The C3 continuous curve design allows the cone to move more freely and smoothly. This results in reduced colouration and distortion. Perfectly suited to its role in the centre channel, the C3’s shape also improves dispersion and imaging into your home cinema.
Optimised For Dialogue
Along with the C3 technology implemented in the dual 4.5” mid/bass drivers, the speaker also inherits its voice coil construction, suspension system and cone material from the Concept series. This loudspeaker also has a lower crossover point at approximately 2.1kHz, adjusted to handle a smoother transition to the tweeter and the lower frequencies typically associated with dialogue.
Floating High-frequency Driver
The Q 5090 features a 1” tweeter heavily inspired by the Concept range. Designed to offer a wide frequency response and low total distortion, the resulting detail sounds crisp and natural. To ensure the tweeter works at maximum performance, it has been hermetically sealed and mechanically isolated from the baffle to prevent distortion introduced by the power of the mid/bass drivers.
Cabinet Construction
Released in four distinct colours, the cabinet is constructed from 18mm MDF with internal bracing for superior rigidity. The curved design, characteristic of Q Acoustic speakers, helps to reduce the effect of standing waves, whilst the rear-firing reflex port similarly reduces air turbulence and reinforces low-frequency capabilities.
Point-2-Point Bracing
The Q Acoustic Q 5090 features a Point-2-Point (P2P) bracing system that provides additional support to the cabinet and helps to reduce unwanted vibration and resonance. This P2P system consists of a series of strategically placed wooden supports that connect directly between the front and back panels of the cabinet.
Home Cinema Connection
The Q 5090 has a clean and contemporary design, with a dark acrylic baffle motif. The low profile dimensions, no more than 17cm high, make it easy to place, with a new terminal panel featuring inconspicuous metal securing nuts designed to accommodate 4mm plugs, wires or spades with plenty of rear space remaining.
