Full Description
Reaching its seventh generation, Monitor Audio have taken the opportunity afforded to them by decades of audio expertise to build upon and improve their range once again. New and improved drivers and tweeters improve the frequency response and directivity for extra clarity and expanded sound quality. A revised crossover between the woofer and tweeter makes the reproduction of high and low frequencies extremely smooth and natural. Plus a new and improved finish with two real wood veneer options – walnut and ash – look sleek, modern, and natural in any living space.
RST II and C-CAM Driver Design
Seventh-generation Silver series Monitor Audio speakers benefit from innovations developed for the higher Gold range. These trickle-down technologies have been used to harmonise the impact of crossover from tweeter to bass drivers by maximising the range of the three-inch mid-range driver.
The Rigid Surface Technology (RST) II drivers, used throughout the Silver 7G speakers, utilise Ceramic-Coated Aluminium Magnesium (C-CAM) materials which are lightweight but strong enough to withstand the kinetic forces exerted during use, letting you push further, louder and with more detail. The cones’ chassis and surrounding geometry have been optimised to improve directivity and time response between drive units.
Silver 7G C-CAM Tweeter
Shining behind the acoustically transparent hexagonal grille is Monitor Audio’s C-CAM tweeter, which has benefitted greatly from the robust materials used throughout the Silver 200. This design choice gives the speaker room to breathe by raising the high-frequency breakup point far above the human hearing range.
As well as a brand new magnet motor structure to expand manoeuvrability, the tweeter has been vented to reduce turbulence and energy build-up, improving overall efficiency and performance. Finally, these features are crowned by the Uniform Dispersion (UD) Waveguide which, as its name suggests, helps to synchronise sound from each of the drivers so it reaches your listening position more harmoniously whilst also widening directivity for larger spaces.
Rear Port System and New Cabinet Design
The dynamic capabilities of the Monitor Audio Silver 200 7G Floorstanding Speakers are augmented by the rear-ported bass-reflex design. By reducing the turbulence of air moving from the cabinet and increasing its speed, these speakers are able to deliver cleaner, smoother, thrilling bass.
The metre-tall cabinet is available in five distinguished finishes, ranging from wood grain to smooth gloss. You will also receive outriggers feet which can be connected to the base of the cabinet with a slot to add optional carpet spikes, perfect for a range of floors.
