Micro Pleated Diaphragm III

Redeveloped to celebrate Monitor Audio’s 50th Anniversary, the Platinum 3G series benefits from a great step-up in precision. Discover a new level of appreciation for your favourite tracks. The MPD III can derive overlooked subtleties from even the most familiar of film and music, with a frequency response over 60kHz and diminished crossover colouration. The new waveguide geometry also ensures directivity for articulate detail and coherency.

Rigid Diaphragm Technology III

The Platinum 300 takes full advantage of it’s size with two eight-inch RDT III woofers and a dedicated four-inch midrange driver. Capable of breaching frequency levels usually dedicated to powered subwoofers, these speakers are optimised for power handling and delivering fine detail across a nuanced soundscape. Lightweight and sturdy, two thin layers of carbon fibre helps avoid cone breakup to enforce a clearly defined frequency range.

New Cabinet Philosophy

Countermeasures against distortion have been implemented through the design of the cabinet. From the tuned rear ports to the dual layer aluminium driver frames, the Platinum 300 3G is well isolated against rattle and turbulence during intense playback. New outrigger legs keep the loudspeaker stable, with the strength required for easier walk-in positioning and ergonomic, top-down feet levelling instead of tipping the speaker to adjust the height.
