High-Definition Imaging

Starting at the pinnacle of the A180, JBL have included their patented High-Definition Imaging (HDI) technology. This waveguiding geometry ensures that their drivers are capable of delivering sound more efficiently and directionally than their contemporaries. The result is a crisper high-range, with every musical note directed towards the listener rather than dispersed, uncontrolled, around the room. A more controlled frequency also ensures smoother sounding transition between drivers.

Two-and-a-Half Way Design

The JBL A180 floorstanding speakers use two 6.5 inch polycellulose woofers. With double the power when driving bass as low as 40Hz and a smooth crossover to the inch diameter aluminium tweeter, the A180 confidently demonstrates the benefits of a two-and-a-half way crossover design. Audio is enriched thanks to the dual rear ports, allowing for optimised air flow from the cabinet and an improved bassline. At one metre tall, JBL prove that speakers don’t have to dominate space to provide an exceptional experience.

Bi-wire / Bi-amping Terminals

Turn around the JBL A180 and you will find that the five-way binding posts are perfectly suited for a range of connections and hifi setups, with an impedance at 6 ohms and an excellent 90dB sensitivity. Match these speakers with your choice of amplifier, with a recommended power compatibility between 20 and 225W. The versatility and relative comfort at which these speakers can be run opens them up to both bi-wire and bi-amp installations, letting you dedicate power to bass and midrange frequencies independently.

Mid-sized, large sound

The JBL A180 is the middle size floorstanding speaker in the Stage range. Measuring at a metre tall, these speakers are the perfect mix of bass and bulk. Without completely dominating the room, the A180s will act as a statement centrepiece of your home cinema system. With a professional looking matte black cabinet contrasting against the white polycellulose drivers, these speakers also come with rubber or spike feet, meaning they can be safely placed on hard or carpeted floor alike.
