Award
2020 Best DAC £100-£200
“An accomplished and affordable DAC”
“One of the very best ways to upgrade your desktop headphone system”
XMOS 16-core chip
The new low-latency XMOS microcontroller is packed with processing power. The new 16-core design delivers double the clock speed and four times the memory over its predecessor with the latest SuperSpeed USB standard. This enables fast processing of your audio data via the input leading to optimised sound quality.
Burr-Brown True Native chipset
In conjunction with the XMOS microcontroller, the Burr-Brown chipset allows you to hear your music the way the artist intended, in the higher format it was recorded. It ensures bit-perfect files so they remain unchanged allowing you to hear details in your favourite tracks like never before.
REBalance
REBalance literally rebalances the signal to address the common problem of clicks caused by jitter and ensure that the digital signal received by the DAC is identical to the original source, no matter which audio format is being played.
USB3.0 Technology
‘SuperSpeed’ USB 3.0 has a more exhaustive wiring specification which allows for a greater amount of audio transfer while still being backwards compatible. The units incorporate high-quality gold-plated connectors for optimal signal transfer.
Active Noise Cancellation II
Based on military tech, the Active Noise Cancellation II technology generates a signal identical to that of the incoming electrical noise but in the opposite phase, actively cancelling it out. This is highly effective at removing low- and mid-frequency noise, while passive insulating filters deal with higher frequency interference.
