Full Description
“The iFi Go Link is like a featherweight UFC fighter – beneath that slender exterior lies an impressive machine just waiting to be unleashed.”
Design and Build
The GO Link is a fusion of high-end technology and practical design. It features a USB-C connector at one end and the DAC and headphone amp circuitry at the other, both encased in sturdy magnesium alloy. The six-centimetre flexible cable linking these components allows the DAC/amp to be angled towards the listener, easing stress on the USB port while enhancing user convenience. Moreover, the cable boasts silver-plated copper conductors with individual polymer insulation in a ‘twisted pair’ configuration, optimising inductance and capacitance while reducing noise interference.
Technology
At the core of the GO Link lies an ESS Technology’s Sabre HiFi series DAC chip—the ES9219MQ/Q. This power-efficient, high-performance chip, combined with Quad DAC+ and Time Domain Jitter Eliminator technologies, delivers ultra-low distortion, excellent clarity, and impressive dynamic range. The GO Link supports PCM audio data up to 32-bit/384kHz, DSD to 11.2MHz (DSD256), and MQA, making it a perfect companion for Tidal’s ‘HiFi Plus’ tier users. Moreover, the LED changes colour to indicate the incoming audio format and the PCM/DSD sample rate.
Power
The GO Link’s headphone amp feeds a gold-plated 3.5mm socket incorporating iFi’s S-Balanced configuration. This provides a power output of 70mW/1.5V into 32 ohms, rising to 2V with higher impedance headphones. This ensures ample power to drive your headphones while minimising drain on the connected device’s battery. And if you want to switch to a larger sound system, the 3.5mm analogue output can connect to a preamp, integrated amp, or powered speakers. Packaged with adapters for USB-A and Apple Lightning ports, the GO Link is ready for use with any device right out of the box.
